Issey Miyake Spring 2010 RTW

As always, upon looking at Issey Miyake's collection for something surprising and unique. And yet again, Dai Fujiwara, has accomplished that. For his spring collection Issey Miyake: "presents NEWS MIX. The gathering of patterns and motifs from North, East, West, and South are arranged into textiles. Mixed styling is a characteristic of the show. Cheerful and colorful prints make an impression on the collection."

This collection has such a wide range of textiles and representations of different cultures. Its refreshing to see so many different cultures on one catwalk. And although it wasn't completely unified, it had its pieces that stood out. I am especially fond of the minimalistic jackets, as well as the ethnic prints and influences seen in the jewelry. Overall, this collection shows how culture awareness is becoming more and more popular. And ethnic prints are going to continue to be a strong trend in spring.

Style, Issey Miyake
