Why Hello Diane!!

I had the pleasure of seeing Diane Von Furstenberg speak at Georgetown University on Monday.

She told her life story, and how she made it as she has today. And it was just amazing, because a long with her speech she would put photos up on slides, to really emphasize her point and to tell a wonderful story. She has had such a lucrative career in fashion while also changing it up from books to cosmetics, which I previously knew nothing about. Not only did she tell her story, but she truly did inspire me. And on that note here are some things that really stuck with me:

"important to have clarity... to love what you do. It's important to make sense, and if you don't believe in it, it won't work"

" Clarity + Strategy = Success"

"Generosity is the best investment.. it protects your karma" - on working with Vital Voices.

" The most important relationship is with yourself".

She really did inspire me, and makes me want to be a designer of that scale. And I refuse to let anyone stop me!! :)

UPDATES: 

• My 21st birthday was last weekend, still not sure if I want to put pictures up from them, but they're on my facebook account, not my sourtang page. :) But maybe pictures to come just to show what I wore. 
• This week has just been super uber inspirational with spoken poetry from the Asia Project , really got me thinking about my life and all the things going on in it. And then my first happy hour, with one of my best friends Maria.. she reminds me of all the things I want to do. And how I don't need someone to hold me back. But its hard when you just like someone or that uncertainty of my own feelings. 

Truly, missing commenting on everyone's lovely blogs, and thank you everyone for the amazing comments, and support! And also pictures from fashion events to come. I've also been more inspired to work on my personal projects, and not devoting my entire present to school work.

Artsy Fartsy: Takagi Masakatsu

So I'm feeling pretty magically today. Lmfao.. Yes, I said pretty magically! And these pictures suit my mood right now for something beautiful, and for something mysterious and journey-like. These paintings are painted by Japanese artist, Takagi Masakatsu. I had come across him and his a work a while ago when I was researching my three piece menswear outfit. Although, this did not really inspire my work, it really inspires me, and makes me happy. :)

Lovely Little Things

Some charming interiors, and close up of home things. I'm really happy because we were finally able to book tickets to get home! I've been extremely home sick, and I'm just really happy to be able to go home, 1 more week!! :) And these are also inspiration for me, when I get back home.. I plan on redecorating/rearranging my room, and my sewing area!!

How crazy is it that its August already? I gotta start preparing for my last year of school, yay! So excited about that too..
Andd... I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the fashion horoscope post I just did. I'm trying to respond to everyone as soon as I can! :)

Search for Originality

Random drawings I did on ScribblerToo, which is a really cool program, where you can draw and it makes these webs connecting things together. Wow, that was not a good description at all. But it really makes them look eerie or even creepy. I've been in the mood for originality and finding original and fresh blogs.

Guerra De La Paz & Some

A real combination of art and fashion. I'm absolutely in love with these. Everything used is made from clothing. I love the artistic concept of it and the reusing of clothes and recycled objects as art. I also love the bonsai trees, so lovely, wish I could have one of those in my home!

Uh oh, another random list about myself. haha.. I guess this is good since I can't really describe myself very well, gives me a chance to be more articulate.

1. Laughing is one of my favorite things to do. I'm so easy to make laugh. And I think everyone is really funny. And I'm so ticklish its ridiculous. haha.
2. I cannot live without french fries. They are my staple food. I don't eat them as often anymore because there not so healthy but I eat them when I can.
3. I like making people happy. So I typically have a hard time saying no to people especially those I love. But I'm working on that!
4. I believe that every person has the potential to be better, and improve their own circumstances, whatever it may be.
5. I think that every human being needs to love themselves first. I know, I know, so cliched or whatever, but true.
6. Sometimes I just want to be a singer. I love to sing, and it makes me happy when I sing. Although, I can't remember lyrics unless I really read the lyrics and repeat it everyday, but some days I wish singing could be my occupation.
7. I love collecting random notebooks, and stationary things. Even though most times I never ever completely finish using a notebook. Well, I do for my personal journal.
