Gotta Love Martha!!

Like the overachiever I am, I'm trying to get back into the things I love, aka crafting, and making jewelry and accessories. And anyways, it was my love for making jewelry and accessories that I started Sour Tang! :)
And these are some of my favorite jewelry ideas from Martha. And yes, I love Martha Stewart.. I mean she's so inspiring considering the empire she has built. And I want to eventually build my own empire!! :) And these are all relatively easy DIY projects. I probably won't create any of these until later. But I am working on some sewing projects right now.
OTHER THANGS:
+ I helped my best friend and talented makeup artist, Lily with her photo shoot for this vampire inspired contest, basically she had to create two different looks one for the day time and one for the night time. Please take a look and vote for her, she is #416! VOTE HERE!
+ I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping, and I just need to wrap everything! :) I'm always such a last minute Christmas shopper,, but I am hopefully changing that next year, since I will :knockonwood: have a full time design job! :)
+ I'm in the planning stages for a lot of my projects right now, and I will hopefully turn them into reality in a couple of months! :) I'll keep you guys updated for sure!
Happy Holidays to everyone!! :)

Fashionable Cause: Maasai Made: The Kenya Project
I'm really excited to present the Maasai Made: The Kenya Project! They just had their product launch this past Thursday. I believe that this project is very exciting and has a lot of potential! Especially since it is so close to home, launched and organized by a group of Marymount students with the assistance of the dean of the school of business.
"Maasai Made is a project initiative that is taking place at Marymount University. The objective of this project is to make hand-made crafts available to the public for purchase. The jewelry is made by a very talented tribe in Kenya, the Lturoto."
100% of the sales go back to the Lturoto tribe. One of the students at Marymount is actually from this tribe. The Lturoto tribe is nomadic in nature, and by purchasing products from the Maasai Made project, you can support there lifestyle and give them opportunities to purchase water and other necessities.
They primarily have jewelry, ornaments as well as key chains for sale right now. My favorite jewelry piece was definitely the bangles, which I bought and love wearing!! They're pretty fashion forward and very easy to match with your every day look! Also, every jewelry piece or accessory is one-of-a-kind so you know you are getting a unique jewelry that is both charming and for a good cause!
They are currently working on their website, and when that launches I'll update ya'll! :)

Pretty Little Things: Chockers

Chockers are the IT thing this coming season. An idea is to wear a brightly, colored chocker under button ups. The idea is to wear them underneath the collar, to replace a tie! I think that's pretty damned clever I discovered the idea from Refinery29. And I found a few chockers that I would love to have!! I think chockers, are just really great ideas to wear with simple tops with a crew cut or strapless numbers. These are definitely statement pieces that will help you stand out!

Pretty Little Things: Rings
I have been coveting a lot of pretty things lately, and I think that this will be a regular post, on the jewelry and accessories I love, and want. I absolutely love jewelry, even though I almost always forget to wear them, and haven't bought any new jewelry in forever.
As I was browsing rings, I've noticed that animals are starting to become a main trend in jewelry. And some of them I like a lot, especially the snakes! Raw stones have also lately become an ever growing trend. I think I have an affinity with jewelry because I love to make jewelry, and I really really wish I had a metal-smithing studio.
My favorite rings are the Maison Martin Margiela Origami Ring (the white ring in the middle) and the Monique Pean Natu Blue canvasite ring (middle bottom) both in the top set. Unfortunately, they're way out of a students budget! haha
Happy Wednesday!!
