Fashionable Cause: Same Sky Jewelry

A new part of my blog are fashionable causes, basically fashionable items that benefit charity. I am a strong believer of fashion being helpful rather than harmful. And because of that, I want to focus on and show off the items that are fashionable for a cause.

I just discovered Same Sky Bracelets via Refinery29!! I absolutely adore them for there color and the charming glass-blown beads! They're so colorful, fun and handmade. What I love about Same Sky is the idea that it is a trade-not-aid initiative. The goal is to empower women worldwide where they hire HIV+ women who have also survived the Rwandan Genocide. These women crochet, and utilize the glass-blown beads to generate a higher than average income. Not only are they lovely and perfect bracelets for a summer day, you know that when you purchase these bracelets you will be supporting a positive cause that will help these women live better.

I love that you post about eco-friendly products that are cute too! Coca-Cola actually has jewelry and bags made from pop tabs and they employ women in the congo in the same way as these bracelets! Just thought you'd like to know :)

The idea behind these cool bracelets is fantastic, not like a cause t-shirt that most likely will end up as a pj.
